Amazing song,and group. I was blessed to see them live in St. Louis ... a long time ago.

I feel very sad to note that this marvelous song is even more relevant in describing what you see on the streets of London today then 50 years ago. I loved this song from the bottom of my heart, be it sung by Ralph McTell the composer himself, or the cover version recorded by Roger Whittaker or even Vicki Carr in the 1980's, when I was a young naval officer, who happened to have the opportunity to walk along some streets in London whistling the tune of this song.

Having been in Ypres Fifty years ago as a ten year old the memories have never left me so many names carved in memorial and the ones you see are the ones with no known graves
